Exploring ADHD: Understanding, Acceptance, and Empowerment

A six-week Lifeing Circle with Tayler Cline

ADHD is one of the most discussed topics in mental health today, yet it's also one of the most misunderstood. Information is everywhere—books, podcasts, social media, personal stories—but it can be difficult to separate current research from outdated beliefs or oversimplified advice. As a result, many people are left with more questions than answers.

This six-week Lifeing Circle is designed to create space for those answers. Together, we'll take a closer look at what ADHD actually is, how it affects the brain, and how it can influence attention, motivation, executive functioning, emotional regulation, relationships, and everyday life. Rather than approaching ADHD as something to overcome or “fix,” we'll explore it as a neurodevelopmental difference that deserves understanding, curiosity, and context.

Whether you've been diagnosed with ADHD, suspect you may have it, or simply want a deeper understanding of the condition, this Circle offers an opportunity to learn in a thoughtful, supportive, and non-judgmental environment.

Is This Circle Right for You?

This Circle may be a good fit if you...

  • have recently been diagnosed with ADHD and want a stronger foundation for understanding what that diagnosis means
  • suspect you may have ADHD and are looking for information that goes beyond social media sound bites and stereotypes
  • have spent years wondering why certain aspects of daily life feel more difficult than they seem to for other people
  • are interested in the neuroscience behind ADHD rather than relying solely on productivity tips or coping strategies
  • want to better understand executive functioning, motivation, emotional regulation, masking, burnout, and the broader ADHD experience
  • are a partner, family member, friend, educator, or professional who wants to better support someone with ADHD
  • enjoy learning through discussion and reflection, not just lectures or presentations
  • are looking for a community where questions are welcomed and different experiences are respected

This Circle is designed for learners, not experts. You don't need a formal diagnosis or previous knowledge about ADHD to participate — just a willingness to explore the topic with curiosity and an open mind.

What We'll Explore Together

Each week focuses on a different aspect of the ADHD experience, combining educational content with guided reflection and group discussion. Along the way, we'll examine common misconceptions, explore current neuroscience, and consider how these concepts show up differently from person to person.

Topics may include:

  • What ADHD is — and isn't — and why it stays misunderstood
  • How the ADHD brain develops, and what neuroscience tells us
  • The role of dopamine, norepinephrine, and motivation
  • Executive functioning, working memory, and time awareness
  • Emotional regulation, rejection sensitivity, and the nervous system
  • Hyperfocus, impulsivity, perfectionism, masking, and burnout
  • ADHD-friendly approaches, without one-size-fits-all answers
  • Communication, relationships, and self-advocacy

Rather than offering a single roadmap for living with ADHD, this Circle invites participants to explore what they've learned, consider how it relates to their own lives, and continue developing their understanding beyond our six weeks together.

By the end of six weeks, you will have...

  • a clearer understanding of the neuroscience and lived experience of ADHD
  • greater insight into how ADHD can influence motivation, executive functioning, emotional regulation, relationships, and everyday life
  • a foundation for continuing to explore ADHD with curiosity, self-awareness, and evidence-informed understanding

ICF Associate Certified Coach (ACC) • Certified ADHD Life Coach (CALC) • Certified Life Coach

I'm an ICF Associate Certified Coach (ACC), Certified ADHD Life Coach, and Certified Life Coach who specializes in working with adults navigating ADHD and executive functioning challenges.

Like many people in the ADHD community, my interest in this work is both professional and personal. Receiving my own ADHD diagnosis as an adult fundamentally changed how I understood many of my lifelong experiences. It didn't answer every question, but it gave me a framework that replaced years of confusion and shame with understanding—and that experience continues to shape the way I approach coaching and education today.

Over the past several years, I've worked with individuals at many different stages of their ADHD journey. While every person's experience is unique, one thing has remained remarkably consistent: understanding how ADHD actually works often changes the way people understand themselves.

My approach is grounded in curiosity rather than judgment. I believe education can be incredibly empowering when it's practical, nuanced, and rooted in both current research and lived experience. Rather than offering universal solutions, I encourage participants to ask thoughtful questions, explore what resonates with their own experiences, and develop a deeper understanding of how ADHD shows up in everyday life.
